These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Khandaq mobile application and related services (together, "Khandaq," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using Khandaq, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 12 below.
Khandaq is an Islamic based Ruqyah and spiritual care companion application. The App provides:
Khandaq's content is intended to be sourced from the Qur'an, Sunnah and the Lead Raqi's personal experience. Where content reflects the Lead Raqi's own experience, judgement, or opinion, we aim to distinguish this from directly sourced material where practical.
Khandaq is a spiritual and religious care companion, rooted in the Qur'an, Sunnah and the Lead Raqi's personal experience. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.
The symptom screener and related content are designed to support your personal spiritual practice and reflection. They are not intended to, and do not, diagnose any medical or mental health condition. Some experiences described in Islamic tradition in connection with waswas, evil eye, or jinn possession can, in certain cases, overlap with symptoms of medical or mental health conditions that benefit from professional evaluation.
We recommend consulting a qualified doctor or other licensed healthcare professional for any physical or mental health concerns, alongside your spiritual practice. Do not delay seeking medical care because of anything you read or experience within the App.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, or if you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (999 in the UK, or the relevant emergency number in your country) immediately. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please contact the Samaritans (116 123, UK, free, 24/7) or an equivalent crisis service in your area without delay.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use Khandaq. This age requirement is set to help ensure the App is used appropriately and in compliance with digital consent regulations across the regions where Khandaq is available.
By using Khandaq, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide to us is accurate.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or that we reasonably believe are being used in violation of these Terms.
Khandaq offers a ticketed support system through which you may request direct guidance from our Lead Raqi. Tickets are consumable, one-time purchases — each ticket entitles you to a single case review and response cycle with the Lead Raqi. Tickets are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically.
We may in future offer a Premium subscription tier providing expanded features, including additional reciters, adaptive guidance, and progress tracking. Where offered, subscription terms (including pricing, billing frequency, and cancellation) will be presented to you at the point of purchase.
All purchases made through Khandaq are processed via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable. Your purchase is subject to the applicable store's own terms of service and payment policies, including their refund and cancellation procedures. We do not directly process or store your payment card details.

Recitations of the Qur'an and adhkar made available within Khandaq are drawn from established, verifiable sources. The Qur'an itself is not subject to copyright claim by Khandaq; where we present specific recordings, translations, or transliterations, these are used and attributed in accordance with the rights and permissions applicable to those sources.
All other content within the App — including the Khandaq name, logo, app design, original written guidance, care plan content, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute this content without our prior written consent, except for your own personal, non-commercial use of the App as intended.
If you provide feedback, reviews, suggestions, or testimonials to us, or if you consent to share reflections or case insights, you grant Khandaq a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish such materials for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes.
Additionally, we reserve the right to share anonymised, aggregated platform statistics (such as overall app usage trends or total recitations completed) in our marketing materials.
We will never disclose your personal identity, real name, contact details, or raw private Diary/Timeline entries in any marketing or promotional material without your explicit prior consent. Any case studies or examples referenced publicly will be fully anonymised and generalised to protect user privacy.
Some audio, narration, or guidance content within Khandaq may be produced using text-to-speech or other algorithmic/AI-based tools, based on underlying content prepared or reviewed by us. Where this is the case:
We aim to clearly distinguish AI-narrated or programmatically generated content from direct, personal guidance provided by the Lead Raqi, wherever practical within the App.
Khandaq is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any spiritual, emotional, or other outcome will result from use of the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Khandaq and its officers, employees, and the Lead Raqi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You may stop using Khandaq and delete your account at any time through the App's settings, or by contacting us directly.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Khandaq, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical, we will provide notice of termination and the reason for it.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, via an in-app notice or email) before the changes take effect. Continued use of Khandaq after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Khandaq shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
